Camper Application

• Application deadline is 1 May 2020
• Essay must be the original and creative expression of each camper
• Essay length is limited to 500 words and written in the space provided below
• Campers will be notified of selection via the email provided above

Scholarship Instructions:

• PreFlight scholarships are needs based and are awarded to campers who would not otherwise be able to afford the camp fee
• At the end of the camper’s essay, parents or guardians must also include the following information: Family Income, Number of Family Members Living on Income, and any Special Circumstances
• One Letter of Recommendation, which cannot be from a relative or guardian, must also be submitted. The Letter of Recommendation must be at least 2 paragraphs and typed as a separate document. Send the Letter of Recommendation to and in the subject line write the camper’s first and last name along with “Recommendation Letter.”


The inspiration for PreFlight Aviation Camp comes from the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) and their story of courage and sisterhood. In creating PreFlight Aviation Camp, the legacy of the WASP is able to be honored and passed on to future generations. In the space provided below please write an essay about a woman, either who you know personally or have learned about, who inspires you. Explain why they inspire you and what you can do in your life to honor their legacy.
